Happy 2009! Wishing everyone a healthy and prosperous new year! I just returned from a 4 week trip to Asia. It was quite a trip. One of the best memories of this trip was that my lovely sister got married, and I, of course, was her wedding planner/ florist. I will post some pictures soon... I admit that I am a bad blogger, so one of my 2009 resolutions is to start blogging more!
I was asked by a bride to plan her wedding in 3 months back in October. From the start, I knew it would be a challenge, but even with such a short time frame, we were able to find the vendors that we wanted, and at the end, the wedding turned out beautifully. Of course, the wedding could not be done without the great help from all of the vendors! Marriott did an outstanding job and was very accommodating by providing an extra ballroom for the cocktail and a larger reception room at no additional charge!
The bride and groom were so awesome to work with! The bride created the most beautiful stationery, and it's always wonderful when the groom is also very involved with the wedding planning. They decided not to include too many programs during the reception, which allowed them to enjoy the time talking to their friends and family. Since the ballroom carpet has very busy patterns on them, I suggested peach, ivory, champagne and accent with brown as their color schemes, which helped to balance the room in harmony. There are many things that I love about this wedding. The couple has extraordinary taste in music, the tea forte wedding flavor, the Korean traditional dress that the mothers were wearing, the beautiful chandeliers hanging down from the ceiling, and much more.
